Job description

The Support Worker will deliver the aims and outcomes the IGNYTE programme. This is an innovative personal development programme which aims to build the capacity of marginalised young people (16-25 year olds) by engaging them in training support in three key areas: Good Relations, Personal Development and Skills Development. This post has been supported under the Personal Youth Development Programme (PYPD) funded by the International Fund for Ireland (IFI) and the Rural Action (RA)..

Responsibilities

  • To engage young people on an individualised personal development programme. To build opportunities for young people to increase self-awareness, to build resilience, confidence and motivation.
  • To assist in the development and delivery of a Skills Development Programme, including Good Relations Training and Personal Development.
  • To support the tracking of progress and learning of the participants over the duration of the programme. Maintain appropriate monitoring records and use a range of methods to record and share learning.
  • Delivering and designing training sessions with specific emphasis on Good Relations and Skills Development.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • A minimum of 1 years experience in a youth work setting and/or working with vulnerable young adults.
  • Proven facilitation skills in the delivery of a skillsbased training programme. Proven facilitation skills relevant to good relations, personal development, health & well-being
  • Experience in designing and delivering training sessions with emphasis on good relations and personal development.
  • Experience maintaining records in relation to project as required by the funders.
  • An awareness of and experience using tools and strategies to promote positive mental health and well being.
  • Awareness and experience in dealing with Child Protection issues and law.

Desirable Skills

  • OCN NI Assessor Award.

This is a temporary post until December 2024 with a possible extension to December 2025.
