Job description

The Communications and Engagement Officer will develop and implement communications and engagement plans in line with our Communications and Engagement Strategy, further developing relationships and building awareness of our organisation among a range of key stakeholders including commissioners, decision-makers, media, service users, ambassadors, and supporters, etc. Internal communications is also a key aspect of the role..

Responsibilities

• Devise and implement communication action plans to deliver on the goals outlined in our Communications and Engagement Strategy.
• Provide support for the CEO, Senior Leadership Team, and wider staff by writing and editing high-quality materials for a range of audiences, including news releases, reactive media statements, thought leadership/opinion pieces, digital newsletters
• Proactively engage with, and build awareness of Start360 among, members of the media, particularly those correspondents in the areas of justice, health, and employment.
• Support the CEO and Senior Leadership Team with planned and reactive opportunities to engage with elected representatives and key decision-makers around key service areas and new service needs.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Relevant third level qualification, (i.e degree or professional qualification) plus 6 months relevant work experience.
• Or relevant HND/HNC plus 1 years experience in a marketing related role.
• Or 2 years relevant work experience in a marketing related role.
• Experience of handling complex communications campaigns.
• Experience of working across a wide breadth of multi-channel communications.
• Experience of producing a range of marketing materials.
