Job description

The employer is: FUNTASTIC PLAY LTD. Working directly with our Chef you will be an important part of our kitchen team assisting in the preparation of hot and cold food and snacks as well as ensuring the maintenance of a clean and safe kitchen environment. .

Responsibilities

• To assist the chef with the preparation, cooking, despatch and serving of all meals, to the agreed menus and standards. To utilise materials and equipment in an efficient and effective manner.
• Assist in the maintenance of records of food temperatures, fridges and freezer units. Ensure the worktops, utensils and items of equipment are cleaned and sanitised regularly.
• To report any defects in equipment and food commodities and ensure that defects are rectified. To ensure a high standard of personal hygiene and hygienic catering practices are maintained at all times.
• Dispose of all kitchen waste appropriately. Wash and restock café crockery and utensils. Check and sign for all goods as delivered, ensuring quantity and quality.
• Take food and drink orders using a computer system. Make hot drinks using a Barista coffee machine and hot water urn. Serve drinks, snacks, sweets, cakes, etc from the counter. Serve food orders from the kitchen to customers.
• Clear tables of food, crockery and cutlery and return to the kitchen for cleaning. Clean tables.
• To work effectively as part of a team. Promoting flexibility and a willingness to share knowledge, skills and experience to support and develop other team members.
• To attend and staff meetings to discuss updates and appropriate issues. To attend any relevant training.

Further Information

The Employer is: FUNTASTIC PLAY LTD. Salary: Under 18 £6.40, 18-20 £8.60, 21 & over £11.44 per hour. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
