Job description

The Employer is: AN DROICHEAD. To assist in delivery of care and a play programme within An Droicheads daycare; to implement good practice in all aspects of work in relation to the child and his/her parent/guardian as agreed with the Manager..

Responsibilities

• To implement agreed childcare policies in relation to: - child protection - health and safety - inclusive play under the guidance of the Deputy Manager
• To contribute to the provision and implementation of play programmes ensuring continuity and progression in play and language opportunities for the child, as agreed with the Deputy Manager.
• To contribute to the maintenance of a clean, well-organised, stimulating environment for the child and to undertake all reasonable duties required by the Deputy Manager to achieve this aim.
• To safeguard the confidentiality of any information regarding children and their families and other staff.
• To attend training and supervision when required by the Deputy Manager.
• To attend meetings or outside events where deemed appropriate by the Deputy Manager or management.
• To undertake any other reasonable duties as may be required by the Deputy Manager and/or management committee.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• None. Training will be provided as part of the job.

Desirable Skills

• NVQ2 Childcare and a basic understanding of Irish.

Further Information

The Employer is: AN DROICHEAD. Although this is a part-time/ full time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended, and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
