The employers is: SAINT JOSEPHS CENTRE FOR THE DEAF. To assist in performing daily walk abouts to review any hazards or work that needs attending too. To assist in performing the day to day maintenance of the building to good standards of care. .

Responsibilities

• To assist in performing daily walk abouts to review any hazards or work that needs attending too.
• To assist in performing the day to day maintenance of the building to good standards of care.
• To assist the caretaker, director, manager in the daily running of the building.
• To assist in keeping and maintaining records appropriate to the building and jobs and report to caretaker/buildings manager/manager.
• To promptly assist in attending to all emergency situations in and out of building as and when they occur in accordance to the emergency processes and guidelines.
• Maintain a schedule of all emergency contact names and numbers.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Some knowledge of building maintenance e.g. concrete, cleaning, mowing, trimming etc.
• Some knowledge to be able to work outdoor/indoor.
• Some practical skills such as carpentry, decorating, plumbing etc.
• Some knowledge of how common electrical and mechanical items work and to repair.
• Be able to maintain a detailed record book to distribute to director/building manager and manager.
• Able to check and sign off all works completed.

Desirable Skills

• Good communication.
• Good team work.
• Able to plan and work using own initiative.

Further Information

The employers is: SAINT JOSEPHS CENTRE FOR THE DEAF. Salary: Under 18 £6.40, 18-20 £8.60, 21 & over £11.44 per hour. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
