Cricket Coach - Youth Academy


Job description

We are seeking a qualified and passionate Cricket Coach (Level 2 minimum) to join our youth development program. The successful candidate will be responsible for coaching boys and girls youth teams, attending matches and training sessions, and providing one-to-one coaching sessions to players. This role presents an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the development and success of our young cricketers..

Responsibilities

  • Team coaching.
  • Plan and deliver high-quality coaching sessions for boys and girls youth teams, focusing on skill development, tactical awareness and game understanding.
  • Create structured training programs tailored to the age and ability level of the players with an emphasis on player enjoyment and engagement.
  • Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to players, helping them to improve their performance and reach their full potential.
  • Attend matches and tournaments with the youth teams, providing guidance, instruction and motivation to players during game situations.
  • Coach and participate in our Youth Summer Camp for local children in the community.
  • Analyse match performances and identify areas for improvement, both individually and collectively, to inform future training sessions and development plans.
  • Work collaboratively with other coaches, team managers and support staff to ensure a coordinated approach to player development and match preparation.
  • Individual coaching sessions.
  • Offer one-to-one coaching sessions for players seeking additional support and personalised instruction.
  • Assess the strengths and weaknesses of individual players, develop tailored training programs to address specific needs and track progress over time.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to aspiring players, instilling confidence and self-belief in their abilities.
  • Player development and progression.
  • Monitor the progress and development of players within the youth program, identifying talent and potential for advancement.
  • Liaise with senior coaches and talent pathway managers to facilitate player progression to higher levels of competition and representative honours.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship and a lifelong love of cricket among participants.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Minimum Level 2 coaching qualification.
  • Previous coaching experience, particularly with youth players is highly desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of cricket techniques, strategies and game principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire young athletes.
  • Strong organisational abilities including the capacity to plan and deliver effective coaching sessions and manage multiple commitments.
  • Commitment to upholding the values of fair play, respect and integrity within cricket.

Further Information

The Employer is: MUCKAMORE CRICKET CLUB Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
