Food Delivery and Stock Co-Ordinator


Job description

The food delivery and stock coordinator will manage the timely delivery of food items and will ensure efficient stock management within the establishment. The ideal candidate is exceptionally detail-oriented and able to track multiple concurrent activities. The stocker will be responsible for inventory accuracy, assembly quality, and tracking with software.. The candidate will also be involved in transportation, stock control, warehousing and monitoring the flow of goods. Understanding the whole supply chain is important so that the candidate can coordinate it effectively and liaise with suppliers of raw materials, manufacturers, retailers and consumers..

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate food deliveries, ensuring timely and safe transportation of food items.
  • Monitor delivery schedules and track delivery vehicles to ensure on-time arrivals.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels, track stock movements, and replenish supplies as needed.
  • Conduct regular stock checks to avoid shortages and overstocking and organise stock when delivered from suppliers.
  • Ensure that food items are fresh, properly stored, and meeting quality standards. Monitor expiration dates and remove expired products from stock.
  • Liaise with suppliers and vendors to place orders, negotiate prices, and coordinate deliveries.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers to ensure a steady supply of high-quality products.
  • Maintain accurate records of stock levels, deliveries and transactions.
  • Ensure that all food handling and storage practices comply with local health and safety.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with customers, staff, delivery drivers and suppliers.
  • Organisational: Excellent organizational skills to manage delivery schedules, inventory, and stock related tasks efficiently.
  • Problem-Solving: Quick thinking and problem-solving skills to handle delivery issues, and operational challenges effectively.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with other team members to achieve common goals.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in monitoring inventory and ensuring accurate recording-keeping.
  • Time Management: Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities within a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and willingness to take on new tasks and responsibilities when required.
  • Knowledge of inventory management: Familiarity with inventory management techniques such as FIFO (First in, First out) is important for optimising stock levels and reducing waste.

Further Information

The Employer is: CAFÉ MAUDS Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer. Salary: 16-17 £6.40, 18-20 £8.60, 21 plus £11.44 per hour.
