Job description
The Procurement Manager is responsible for managing the Procurement Service Unit. This includes provision of procurement policy and strategic and operational procurement support across the Council. The Manager will lead, promote and modernise procurement processes across council within the constraints of UK regulations and relevant procurement legislation. The Procurement Manager will be responsible for the provision of guidance, briefing and training to Corporate Leadership Team, Elected Representatives, local suppliers and all Council Officers involved in the procurement process. Responsibilities

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject area OR 3 years relevant experience as outlined below and Membership of Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS).
- 2 years relevant management experience within the service unit areas listed for this post.
