To delivery outdoor adventurous activities and programmes for Crawfordsburn Activity Centre to a range of clientele..

Responsibilities

• Support the Activities Coordinator in the delivery of outdoor adventurous activities and programmes as well as other administrative duties as required
• Maintenance tasks to include: Maintenance of activity areas and equipment; Maintenance of Crawfordsburn Scout Centre site; Maintenance and tasks related to residential visits.
• Work with Individuals and group leaders to deliver the activity in a fun, professional and positive way that will inspire youth into taking up adventure sports in a safe manner.
• Other tasks requested by the Centre Manager or Activities & Programme Coordinator that may be reasonably expected of the role.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Physical Requirements - Should be physically able to carry out the duties of the post which will involve climbing walls, ladders and the lifting of equipment such as canoes and kayaks
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work alone and as part of a team
• Ability to motivate and instruct children and adults in adventurous activity
• A desire to help individuals overcome challenges both mentally and physically
• Able and willing to work weekends, evenings and bank holidays
• Adaptability to changes in work schedule
• Willing to submit to an Enhanced AccessNI check prior to starting the job

Desirable Skills

• Experience of working in the Outdoor Industry or similar instructing posts.
• NGB qualifications from the list - RCI, CWI, Archery GB, Sheltered water Canoe & Kayak coach, D1 E, ERCA High Ropes, Orienteering Instructor
• Knowledge of adventurous sports and the Governing Bodies of those sports/activities
• Knowledge of Outdoor and Scouting values and ethos
