Position start date: 01/07/2024 What we can offer you: Our compact, friendly team facilitates daily direct 1:1 supervision from an experienced manufacturing engineer. You will have the opportunity to learn all aspects of the manufacturing process, including design of component parts and assembly using OpenMind Hypercad and programming machine tools from 2-axis through to 5-axis simultaneous using OpenMind Hypermill. Moreover, you will ‘earn while you learn’, gaining knowledge and experience. We are offering an initial contract of 2 years, with the strong potential for a permanent contract, contingent upon performance and aptitude. Reporting to: Director .

Responsibilities

• Offline programming of 3, 4 and 5 axis machining centres using OpenMind Hypermill
• Setting up and operation of CNC machining centres (3, 4 and 5 axis)
• Programming and operation of 2 axis CNC lathes
• Be involved in maintaining workshop tools and machinery
• Follow health and safety protocols to ensure safe functioning of the workshop

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Undertaken or be about to undertake a Level 2 Engineering qualification.
• Have a minimum of 4 GCSEs or equivalent, Grade C or above to include Maths.
• A keen interest in Engineering.
• Strong computer skills.
• Full UK driving licence and access to car and/or the ability to reliably commute to the workshop (limited public transport is available in the vicinity)

Desirable Skills

• Experience in programming and operation of CNC machining centres (although not essential if willing to learn)
