Specialist Clinical Pharmacist; Paediatrics and Neonatel Band 8A
Job description
The post holder will lead, develop and deliver a high quality patient focused clinical pharmacy service in accordance with local and national priorities for patients within but not limited to Paediatrics and Neonatology South West Acute Hospital. He/she will work with patients, nursing, medical staff and other healthcare professionals to optimise medicines management on a patient and wider department basis. The postholder will work collaboratively with professional teams in primary care and regional specialist units to provide high quality medicines management for patients using these services. The postholder will take an active role in training pharmacy and clinical staff on medicines management processes related to this clinical area..
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop and deliver a comprehensive, specialist patient-focused clinical pharmacy service to patients within but not limited to the paediatric unit and neonatal unit SWAH in line with national/ regional guidelines and the regional medicines opt
- Be an integral member of the paediatric/ neonatal teams and participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds and multidisciplinary meetings.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 5 years post registration experience including 3 years in hospital of which 2 years must be at Band 7 or above and At least 2 years post registration experience working as a clinical pharmacist.
- M Pharm in pharmacy or equivalent qualification
