Job description

The Employer is: WARINGSTOWN CRICKET CLUB. Our sports club requires an additional Ground Operative. The individual will work alongside our Groundsman and be part of a wider team which includes volunteers at Waringstown Cricket Club. In this exciting role, the Club will provide training and support and the individual will gain valuable experience working at one of the most prestigious Cricket clubs in the country. .

Responsibilities

• Working with the Head Groundsman to ensure:
• Pitch maintenance schedules are followed and recorded.
• Pitches meet the expectations of the NCU Premier League.
• Communication with officials on match days.
• General upkeep of the practice facilities.
• General handy work tasks fulfilled across a variety of facilities.
• Work safely at all times and in line with Health and Safety protocols.
• Any issues are identified and escalated to the head groundsman as soon as identified.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Ability to work in a diverse range of environments and across multiple sites.
• Ability to problem solve and come up with quick solutions.
• An eye for small details and pride in their work.
• The ability to prioritise and multi-task to meet deadlines.
• The ability to improvise and think creatively at short notice.

Desirable Skills

• Grounds work experience is desirable but not essential.

Further Information

The Employer is: WARINGSTOWN CRICKET CLUB. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended, and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
