Job description

The Employer is: WARINGSTOWN CRICKET CLUB. The Bar Staff position at our club is crucial to ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for our members and guests. As a Bar Staff member, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, efficiently serving beverages, and maintaining a clean and well-stocked bar area. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver outstanding customer service. You will greet patrons, promptly take their orders, and ensure that they receive their beverages in a timely manner. Your attentiveness and willingness to engage with customers will contribute to creating a positive and enjoyable atmosphere at the bar. In addition to serving beverages, you will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the bar area. This includes keeping the bar counter, tables, and seating areas clean and presentable. You will restock supplies, such as glassware, garnishes, and beverages, to ensure that there is an ample supply available during busy periods. As a Bar Staff member, you will also be responsible for operating the cash register accurately. You will handle payments from customers, provide them with receipts as needed, and ensure that all transactions are recorded correctly. Attention to detail and strong numerical skills are essential in this aspect of the role. You will also be available to support work around the grounds of the Club alongside our Groundsperson and be part of a wider team which includes volunteers at Waringstown Cricket Club. .

Responsibilities

  • Greet and serve customers in a professional manner.
  • Take and process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare and serve beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
  • Operate the cash register, handle payments, and provide accurate change.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including bar counter, tables, and seating areas.
  • Restock supplies, such as glassware, garnishes, and beverages, as needed.
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations and responsible alcohol service practices.
  • Engage with customers, address inquiries, and handle any concerns or complaints professionally.
  • Collaborate with other bar staff members to ensure smooth operations and exceptional customer service.
  • Follow club policies and procedures, including opening and closing duties, cash handling protocols, and cleanliness standards.
  • Working with the Head Groundsperson to ensure: General upkeep of the practice facilities and general handy work tasks fulfilled across a variety of facilities.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Customer Service: Ability to provide exceptional customer service, including greeting and interacting with patrons in a professional manner, taking orders accurately, and ensuring prompt and efficient service.
  • Beverage Knowledge: Knowledge of various beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and the ability to make recommendations and answer customer inquiries about drink options.
  • Cash Handling: Proficiency in operating a cash register, handling payments, and providing accurate change. Strong numerical skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills to effectively interact with customers, address their inquiries or concerns, and handle any complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Organisation and Multi-tasking: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple orders simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
  • Cleanliness and Hygiene: Strong commitment to maintaining a clean and sanitary work area, including the bar counter, tables, and seating areas, in compliance with health and safety regulations.

Desirable Skills

  • Relevant experience is desirable but not essential.

The Employer is: WARINGSTOWN CRICKET CLUB. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended, and it could lead to a permanent position.
