Job description

The Employer is: ACREWOOD DAYCARE. To assist the Room Leader for the day-to-day running of the room. To assist the Room Leader in Safeguarding to perform an important role caring for children. Assist the Room Leader in maintaining a high-quality of excellent care and provide a stimulating learning environment. Be creative and able to implement new ideas and use a range of strategies to continually improve practice and support the Room Leader and Management of Acrewood Daycare..

Responsibilities

  • Become aware and adhere to Acrewood Policies & Procedures.
  • Follow the Reporting Safeguarding Procedures Flow Chart - Be vigilant and protect children from harm or abuse reporting any concerns immediately.
  • To carry out daily checklists ensuring room and setting is safe and secure. Reporting when there are instances of unsafe environments. Ensure that the children are settled, feel happy and secure.
  • To support children during meal times whilst using cutlery, cups etc.
  • Engage in the planning and evaluation process, implementing the ages and stages of development into the play plans.
  • To ensure that play equipment is sanitised and replenished every two weeks in accordance with daily planning.
  • To monitor, assess and record all children's learning and development as per the daily planning and potential spontaneous planning.
  • To behave in a respectful manner with all colleagues, parents, and children, encouraging a positive and diverse working environment.
  • To liaise with parents upon arrival and departure communicating the child's day through the use of their book.
  • To attend reasonable out-of-hours training and meetings when required. Meetings such as, staff meetings, supervision and required compulsory training.
  • To co-operate effectively with the Room Leader taking on additional duties when required.

Further Information

The Employer is: ACREWOOD DAYCARE. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended, and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer. Enhanced Access NI and Social Services checks are required at Acrewood Daycare before any appointment can be confirmed.
