Club Operations Assistant


Job description

To provide support to the Club Manager, club employees and club members. The successful applicants will report directly to the Club Manager to assist with the day-to-day running of a busy golf club. The role will be split into two sets of objectives - Regular weekly tasks/specific projects to be delivered..

Responsibilities

  • Regular weekly tasks - The applicant will shadow the Club Manager and assist with weekly tasks.
  • Proactive management of tee time usage to ensure best availability to members by highlighting and dealing with any potential issues.
  • Post-sales management of external societies to ensure that they have an enjoyable experience at Clandeboye. This will require discussions in advance to finalise numbers and requirements, meeting groups on arrival, dealing with issues and bookings.
  • Liaison with the Pro Shop for any issues.
  • Admin support of the Club Manager including responding to member queries and issues raised.
  • Technical support for members using Club and Golf Ireland systems.
  • Any other tasks that are identified by the Club Manager.
  • Communication with members via internal IT channels.
  • Assist with social media content and weekly membership updates.
  • Specific projects - These will be supervised by the Club Manager or in appropriate cases, the management or subcommittees. The timescales for projects will be provided by the Club Manager to ensure regular duties can be carried out.
  • In conjunction with qualified staff, review and update the club's health and safety policy.
  • Produce and implement a proposal to promote and increase the number of members and visitors participating in our open events.
  • In conjunction with the Youth Convenor and club professionals, produce a proposal for the development of junior golf within the club. This will be represented to the Junior Subcommittee and the Management Committee for approval.
  • Assist the Women in Golf (WIG) Convenor to develop and to run the programme within Clandeboye.
  • Conduct a review of how club memorabilia and photographs are displayed in the clubhouse. A report with recommendations will be presented to the Management Committee. This will contain proposals and costs.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • A basic knowledge of IT skills - Full training will be provided on internal IT systems such as Intelligent Golf.
  • Time management skills.
  • Communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to solve problems working with a team.
  • Teamworking skills - The ability to effectively communicate ideas and listen to the perspective of others.

Desirable Skills

  • A knowledge of the game of golf and insight into the set up of a typical member's golf club.
  • Design skills - To create inhouse posters for events, training will be provided on the use of apps such as Canva and Jot Form.

Further Information

The Employer is: CLANDEBOYE GOLF CLUB Although this is a full time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer. Salary: 16/17 £6.40, 18/20yrs £8.60, 21yrs or over £11.44 per hour
