Dermatology Staff Nurse (Link Grade Band 5-6) To assist the Unit Manager in the smooth and effective management of the Dermatology Outpatient Department. Be familiar with a range of Dermatology conditions both general and complex, the treatments required, to teach junior staff and support patients. To provide leadership and direction for staff within department to promote the delivery of safe and effective care. In the absence of the Unit Manager/ Deputy Sister to be responsible for the effective management of the Dermatology Unit..

Responsibilities

• Participates in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating individual patient care based on the Nursing Process method and using a Model of Nursing.
• Ensure that all patients receive the care identified in their care plans.
• Ensures that nursing procedures and treatments are understood by staff and carried out according to established policies and procedures.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• A Level 1 Registered Nurse (Adult) on the live NMC Register.
• 2 years post registration experience working in a Dermatology Setting.
• Evidence of completion of the BDNG Level 3 Competency in Dermatology.
