Job description

The post holder will demonstrate person centred care, through role-modelling this approach to care in their own practice. In addition, the post holder will play a supportive role in leading the development of the care setting, seeking opportunities for learning and development. Drawing on own expertise, the post holder will disseminate expert evidence based knowledge and skills in order to continuously develop self and others..

Responsibilities

  • Role model and enable effective communication with patients and relatives to assist in their understanding of their illness, care and treatment.
  • Adopt a questioning approach to existing practices and constantly seek ways of improving care delivery and services based on available evidence.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Registered on Part 1 (Adult) of the NMC Register.
  • 2 years post registration experience in an acute surgical environment with a Degree in Nursing or other health related subject.
  • 3 years post registration experience in an acute surgical environment with evidence of post registration qualification/study in a health related subject.
