Production Operative-Cutting Room


Job description

To work as part of a team responsible for servicing the sewing floor with the correct cut parts to the required standard on time..

Responsibilities

  • Work from cutting plan to select markers according by required fabric types.
  • Working to maximise material use inline with agreed end wastage.
  • Quality check each material roll or sheet against specification in sample pack.
  • Use of the gantry crane.
  • Update documentation as per the SOP to ensure product traceability.
  • Count ply depth on both ends of the lay.
  • Understand the operation of Bulmer/Gerber Autocutters.
  • Understand the operation of a Servo Assisted Table Knife.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workplace.
  • Be aware of ISO 9001, ISO 18001 and ISO 14001 Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for improving the method of operation in your area of responsibility.
  • Undertaking any/all tasks assigned by manager to ensure targets are met.
  • Providing cover for colleagues as and when required.
  • Implement improvements which have been agreed with your manager.
  • Observe all company rules, Standard Operating Procedures and company policies particularly in relation to health and safety, harassment, disciplinary and ICT security.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 6 months machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability in numeracy and literacy.
  • Proven ability to follow work instructions.
  • Previous experience of monitoring quality.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.

Desirable Skills

  • 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above (must include English and Mathematics).
  • Experience of cutting materials/operating cutting machinery or tools.
  • Willing if required, to undertake a CRB check.

Further Information

The Employer is: CONEEN PROTECTION Although this is a full time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer. Salary: 16/17 £6.40, 18/20yrs £8.60, 21yrs or over £11.44 per hour
