Job description
The Head of service will be responsible for the development and delivery of Maternity, Gynaecology and Newborn Hearing screening services across the Western Trust, with a prime focus on the day to day delivery of high standards of patient centred care. The post holder will provide professional, strategic and operational leadership for midwifery and Gynae services to ensure effective multidisciplinary working and the most efficient use of resources. The post holder will provide leadership and strategic direction, in partnership with senior management team colleagues to promote the delivery of continuous improvement in clinical practice. They shall also ensure the delivery of high quality safe and effective Maternity, Gynaecology and Newborn hearing screening services, which provide positive patient experience across community and hospital Services..
Responsibilities
- Support the Assistant Director in the development, implementation and delivery of the Trusts maternity, Gynae and Newborn hearing screening services, ensuring integration with corporate strategy and service delivery priorities.
- Accountable to the Directorates Clinical Governance Agenda and provide assurance on Maternity, Gynaecology and New Born hearing screening KPIs.
- Provide leadership to staff in line with service and corporate objectives.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Registered on the live NMC Register Part 2 (Midwifery).
- Have a University degree and worked for at least 2 years in a senior management role where they have gained experience in managing maternity and gynaecology services.
- OR Have worked for at least 4 years in a senior management role where they have gained experience in managing maternity and gynaecology services.
