Job description

Our Domiciliary Care offices coordinate over 12,000 hours of care each week and manage a workforce of over 650 Band 3 Domiciliary Care staff. Our Care Bureau team receive over 100 new referrals for Domiciliary Care Services per week and are the central point for sourcing domiciliary care packages for service users from all Directorates within the South Eastern HSC Trust through the Domiciliary Care offices and our Independent Sector Care Providers. The Assistant Manager Domiciliary Services will ensure adequate operational management support is provided to each of these service areas and duties will include management of staff and resources, provision of accurate and timely statistics from our systems, ongoing development of processes and policies, ensuring all stakeholders, (including Trust staff and Independent Sector Care Providers), are encouraged to work through change to ensure services are delivered in line with Regulation and DHSSPS Minimum Standards for Domiciliary Care Agencies and will deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager. .

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the establishment, development, implementation and updating of new processes / protocols, which will maximise the efficiency of the service and which may be extended to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deal appropriately with issues of concern raised by staff to resolve in a timely manner or escalate as necessary.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • A professional Social Work qualification and registered on the appropriate part of the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) Register, without condition
  • To either be, or eligible to be, registered with NISCC or other Health and Social Care Professional Body.

Further Information

The Assistant Manager, Domiciliary Services will support our Registered Manager to effectively operate our two Domiciliary Care offices, based on the Downshire Hospital site Downpatrick and the Ards Hospital site in Newtownards, and our Care Bureau service, which is based on the Ards Hospital site also.
