Senior Government and Public Affairs Manager


Job description

The Senior Government and Public Affairs Manager works to maintain and develop The Open University in Ireland’s relationships with politicians, civil servants and other external stakeholders in order to influence public policy and funding priorities set by the Northern Irish Assembly and the Oireachtas Éireann.

Responsibilities

  • Raising awareness of The Open University's work, policies, and impact in Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland
  • Preparing responses to consultations by government and other bodies
  • Raising awareness of part-time student issues

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • A degree or equivalent qualification
  • Significant experience of using multi-channel strategies to influence government and political agendas
