Job description
To provide a systematic, high quality and specialist Crisis Resolution Service for adults with a learning disability who are experiencing an acute deterioration in their mental health and/or present with behaviour of concern. To work in close liaison with service users, carers and professional colleagues, providing in particular, expert advice on behavioural &/or mental health assessments and interventions during times of crises. To advise on best practice guidance to support service users with a Learning Disability who are in Crisis and may have a deterioration in their mental health and / or display behaviours of concern. To effectively lead the Crisis Resolution Team in triage of referrals, effective decision making, and risk assessing to prioritise the needs of service users. To implement service improvement initiatives in relation to crisis Interventions and support..
Responsibilities
- To lead on responding stabilising and de-escalating crisis situations. This includes linking with other agencies and supporting transitions to community and hospital facilities.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Professional qualification in Learning Disability Nursing and or Mental Health , Social Work, Clinical Psychology or an Allied Health Profession, recognised by the appropriate governing body.
- Nursing Applicants Registered Learning Disability or Mental Health Nurse on Level I, Part 1 of the current NMC register, with 3 years experience as a Band 5 nurse or above (or equivalent) working with persons who have a learning disability.
