Residential Project Worker
Job description
To provide advice, support and services to children, young people and their families in accordance with the aims and objectives of the Service, To work in partnership with children, young people, families, professionals, and Southern Health & Social Care Trust (SHSCT) to provide secure and positive short breaks for children that enables them to achieve positive outcomes..
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to the needs of the young people during your shift as identified within the young persons care plan and in a manner which promotes their independence, health, safety, and welfare, liaising with other professionals if necessary.
- Develop positive and professional relationships with our young people and their families to achieve positive outcomes.
- Ensure the interaction with and between young people promotes positive behaviour and is consistent with the individual care plans.
- Undertake duties related to the needs of the young people, such as personal care, medication administration, domestic duties, and laundry.
- To ensure that all matters related to the young people are reported in line with Willowgrove policy and procedures.
- Ensuring the security of the home during day/night hours and that all health and safety procedures are actioned as necessary i.e. fire evacuation.
- To use the monitoring system to aid in the safeguarding of young people.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Experience of working with children & young people in a paid or voluntary capacity
- Experience of applying safeguarding and child protection policy and procedures.
- Experience of report writing.
- Full driving license and agreement to drive service vehicles.
Desirable Skills
- Experience of working within a residential setting.
- Experience of working with children/young people with a learning disability and/or life limiting condition who may display behaviour's which challenge us
- Level 3 qualification or above in a childcare/healthcare/social science related subject.
