The Employer is: YMCA NEWCASTLE. We are looking for an exceptional person to join our team to support and assist in the development of our youth and community Organisation services with key emphasis on newcomer and asylum support works. Successful candidates will be tasked to work with individuals, families and groups through promoting engagement and welcome for new and existing service users. You will be required to support service users (individual, groups and family) by signposting and supporting access to our centre, drop ins, program support, resources, access to amenities, networking, essential services and opportunities in the community..

Responsibilities

  • Duties for successful candidates will include working directly with individuals, groups and families attending the centre ensuring access to programs, services and activities.
  • Candidate will work directly with local agencies and stakeholders and complete regular assessment of needs with in the community.
  • Develop programs best suited to service users and will be required to complete ongoing consultations and assessment of needs through different media platforms.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of finances and management of budget related to program of activities.
  • Successful candidates will be required to develop session plans and completing evaluations with services users following sessions as well as complete regular report in support of measuring outputs for service users and the organisation.
  • Successful candidate will be required to complete ongoing consultations and assessment of needs to ensure the development and delivery of appropriate to support needs with key focus in inclusion.
  • Successful candidate will be required to deliver sessions and support operations during key times including afternoons and evening based on needs of individuals and groups.
  • Part of the role will also require monthly report updates on program outcome and outputs as well as development plans to increase capacity.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Three GCSES or equivalent in any area (A-C).
  • Have skills, knowledge and understanding of managing income, budget and resources for youth and community program functions.
  • A clear understanding and implementation of policy and procedures around budgetary management, procurement and cash management in relation to the functions of the programme.
  • Candidates applying for the position must be confident and efficient in working with community forums and working directly with stakeholders in support of supporting service users and identified program needs.
  • Have skills, knowledge and understanding of systems as well as ensuring secure and safe use of equipment during program operations for service users.
  • Have skills, knowledge and confidence in developing session plans and completing evaluations both in consultations with teams and clients in support of measuring outputs and outcomes for individuals and the overall organisation.
  • Have skills and confidence in assessing and addressing individual and group needs during program operations and ensuring these needs are met.

Further Information

The Employer is: YMCA NEWCASTLE. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended, and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
