Youth Work Assistant
Job description
The Employer is: SPRINGVALE TRAINING LTD. To plan, provide and participate in appropriate group activities and one-to-one support for the young people referred to our services. To follow the policies, procedures and systems that are set out for Youth start. To ensure activities are delivered in a safe and appropriate manner, using suitable risk assessment and management procedures. To establish good communications with parents and carers; including other professionals involved in supporting the young persons journey. To maintain records relating to work activity in accordance with Youth Start policies and funders’ requirements. This will involve planning, collecting data using computerised recording systems and compiling in-depth reports. To participate in your own supervision, Personal Review and Development Plan and collaborative working arrangements with your line manager and colleagues. To develop constructive relationships and to work with colleagues and external bodies where appropriate to maximize the effectiveness of the programme. .
Responsibilities
- Assist in the delivery of our youth programmes in line with the project outcomes and targets.
- Assist in the recruitment of young people to participate in the project.
- Support young people through their engagement, empowering them to reach their full potential and achieve their individual aspirations.
- Promote a range of local activities for young people in support of their personal progression Skills and Qualifications.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Be able to build good relationships with the young people.
- Be able to work as part of a team.
- Have an understand of the issues affecting young people.
- Have a willingness to learn.
Desirable Skills
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
- Level 2 Youth Work (or willing to work towards this).
- Experience within a youth work environment.
Further Information
The Employer is: SPRINGVALE TRAINING LTD. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended, and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
