Job description

The Play care Assistant will work as part of a team, fostering a home from home environment for every child attending. Applicants must be passionate about working with children, enjoy having fun and getting messy. Applicants must be able to provide a warm, secure relationship, have patience in abundance and love the outdoors as much as the children do. .

Responsibilities

• Playcare assistant will be responsible for all children's health & safety in the setting.
• Provide a safe and secure environment. Be involved in planning and providing daily activities for the children.
• Communicate with other staff and work as part of a team to provide the best quality of care for all children and families.
• Ensure children's hygiene and personal care needs are met.
• Ensure the room is kept clean and tidy throughout the day. Sanitise areas when necessary and maintain cleaning records.
• Building relationships with parents and ensuring all information is handed over to parents at the end of each day.
• Listen to and encourage children in all activities.
• Maintain and respect confidentiality at all times.
• Meeting the individual needs of each child.
• Carry out other duties which are appropriate to the post as may be reasonably requested by the management team.
• The assistant is expected to familiarise themselves with and follow all of Kids Inn After School Club's policies and procedures.
• Undertake training to further professional development.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Experience working with Children.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

Desirable Skills

• Paediatric First aid training.
• Child Protection training.

Further Information

This job is temporary from April to January. Kids Inn After School Club - The Vale Centre. Work time - 1.45pm-6.15pm Monday-Friday. (Can adjust hours to suit successful candidate). Please email CV to kidsinnasc@hotmail.com
