BSO Band 4 Procurement Officer (Sourcing)


Job description

This is a position to assist the Procurement Team Leader in the provision of a value for money procurement service to Health and Social Care (NI) (HSCNI) customers in line with HSCNI regulations and ISO 9001 procedures, ensuring Service Level Agreement and Business Plan objectives are achieved. This role is principally concerned with a sourcing / contracting role for HSCNI. Please see employer website for full job details & person specification. .

Responsibilities

  • Proactively reviewing and sourcing goods and services in line with value for money principles.
  • Purchasing goods and services including the utilisation of the tendering and quotation process in accordance with HSCNI procedures to achieve value for money.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Experience in the use of Windows based software i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Ability to maintain and improve services, systems and customer service to meet high standards of quality and professionalism.
  • GCSE Mathematics and GCSE English (A- C) or equivalent qualification to demonstrate literacy and numeracy or higher qualification And Two x A Levels or equivalent qualification or higher qualification
  • And 18 months relevant business/commercial/financial experience

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in operating purchasing/logistics and/or financial related computerised and e-commerce systems within a procurement environment
