Choice is seeking to recruit two Peripatetic Housing Officers to provide an efficient, responsive and excellent customer focused Housing Management Service to its customers. The successful applicant may be offered a fixed patch to provide maternity cover or work across multiple patches to cover holiday and sickness depending on operational requirements. Responsibilities

  • Provide an efficient, responsive and excellent customer focused Housing Management Service to its customers
  • To carry out scheme visits and audits in accordance with Choice's procedures
  • To respond, record and investigate all cases of Anti-social Behaviour (ASB) in accordance with Choice's polices and procedures, endeavouring to resolve ASB using a range of solutions and attending court when necessary
  • To develop and maintain positive working relationships with local partners and agencies including Local Councils, PSNI, Social Services, communities and the general public

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Degree in any discipline plus 1 year's experience in a customer facing role in a social housing setting Or CIH Level 4 Plus 2 years experience in a customer facing role in a social housing setting
  • Or 5 GCSEs in any discipline (A-C) plus 3 years experience in a customer facing role in a social housing setting
  • Experience of implementing the rules of the Housing Selection Scheme; to include tenancy management (Transfer Applications, Assignment of tenancy etc) and allocation of properties
  • Experience of Microsoft Office programmes including Excel and Word
  • Must have UK full driving licence and have vehicle available for daily business use

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in using HMS (or an equivalent Housing Waiting list system)
  • A third level qualification
  • An understanding of housing legislation in Northern Ireland
  • Leadership skills (with responsibility for managing a team)
