Job description

The Employer is: TIDES TRAINING AND COSULTANCY. TIDES Training mentoring and mediation aims to empower people with the practical skills to deal with the challenges of everyday life and to help facilitate improved individual / organisation relationships and peace building at a community level. The Good Relations Trainee will support TIDES Trainer/Mediators and the wider team in the delivery of Good Relations training programmes and provide peer support to participants. The Trainee role will provide the staff member with a wide range of learning and experience around the delivery of Good Relations work. This will involve shadowing a fully experienced Trainer and mediator to support mediation, programme delivery. The Trainee will be supported in their personal development and work-based learning through their participation in accredited training to enhance skills and their capacity to support and facilitate training. .

Responsibilities

  • Program Support - To assist the Trainer/Mediator in the co-design of training materials and related activities to develop participants in the key outcome areas of Good Relations, Citizenship.
  • To assist staff members in co-facilitation of training workshops and residential events.
  • Communications Support - Help raise the profile amongst target groups, utilising social media, attend good relations events and seminars and support the engagement of participants in such events.
  • Administrative Support - Provide related support to the Trainer/Mediator.
  • Information Support - Help capture and process session/programme feedback and provide feedback on future delivery.
  • Personal Development - must complete within the agreed timeframe, TIDES Good Relations training package to develop good relations knowledge, practice and skills and participate in monthly programme reviews to identify potential service improvements.
  • Any other duties as required.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Good communication skills.
  • Willing to participate in cross-community and/or cross-border programmes.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office to support the production of admin information.
  • The energy and drive to join a small highly innovative team and bring a young persons perspective to programme design.
  • Ability to be able to work well in a team while being able to work independently.
  • Knowledge of websites and social media.
  • Eligible to work within the UK.
  • Be available for evening and weekend work as required.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience of volunteering.
  • Good time management.
  • Work within the limits that are required by confidentiality.

Further Information

The Employer is: TIDES TRAINING AND CONSULTANCY. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended, and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer. Trainees will complete a suite of TIDES training programmes throughout the placement: Good Relations and Civic Leadership Level 2, Contentious Cultural Issues, Conflict Resolution and Mediation Skills and Advanced Group Work Skills Level 3. They will also be supported to attend other relevant training such as OCN assessor training.
