Job description
The Employer is: CARLEN CONSTRUCTION. A Construction Labourer Operative or construction worker does physical labour on construction sites. They may prepare sites by cleaning them, loading, or unloading materials, and removing hazards. A general labourer may also run some types of equipment or put together and take apart scaffolding and other temporary structures. Construction Operatives are involved in a range of practical tasks on a construction site, working on projects from foundation to completion. This includes preparing the site ahead of building work taking place and carrying out manual work whilst a project is in progress. Construction operatives complete a wide variety of tasks, ranging from mixing and pouring concrete, moving, and unloading materials, operating machinery and more. Responsibilities
- A Labourers duties vary depending on the project, but they must be familiar with certain equipment and techniques that are common to various construction sites.
- Some of their most common responsibilities include: Performing setup and clean-up tasks on site.
- Climbing to heights and conducting work while properly using safety restraints.
- Providing general maintenance of construction equipment. Performs various physical duties as assigned.
- Maintain all safety standards.
- Moves, secures, installs, builds, loads, or unloads materials.
- Performs some specialised tasks which may require on-the job training.
- Effectively using heavy and light equipment, depending on the jobsite/assignment.
- Moves items from place to place, according to direction from the site supervisor.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
- Attentive to detail and be alert always to ensure safety.
- Able to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers.
- Integrate into the team.
- To be mannerly and conduct themselves in a professional manner when dealing with residents and members of the public.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 40 pounds etc).
- Good hand eye coordination.
- Familiarity with power tools and machinery.
- Commitment to safety rules.
- A valid CSCS Card.
Desirable Skills
- Level 1 Certificate in Construction Skills.
- Level 2 Certificate in Construction Operations.
- Previous experience as a Labourer preferred.
- Own transport.

The Employer is: CARLEN CONSTRUCTION. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended, and it could lead to a permanent position.
