Pool Attendant and Lifeguard


Job description

The Employer is: HAGANS LEISURE. To deliver friendly, efficient customer service and to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all of our guests, with the key aim of retaining and attracting new customers. Employees should be enthusiastic, welcoming, courteous and professional in dealing with all customer contacts. .

Responsibilities

  • This is not an exhaustive list of all of the duties that may need to be undertaken. It may be necessary to undertake other duties in order to fulfil the objectives of Hagans Leisure Group.
  • Every Employee, regardless of position has a legal obligation placed upon him/her to conduct themselves in such a way as to avoid any Health or Safety risk to themselves, other Employees or any persons affected by the work activity.
  • Co-operate with the Company, to enable it to carry out its duties under the Health and Safety at Work Order/Act.
  • Set a good personal standard in relation to safe working practices. Report any near miss, accident and /or dangerous occurrence involving employees, members of the public, plant, material or equipment.
  • Report any injury however slight, occurring to themselves while at work. Report any hazards identified within the Company.
  • Maintain good housekeeping. Use correct methods of work. Assist in any investigation of accidents/incidents.
  • Familiarise themselves and conform with the Health and Safety Policy. Familiarise themselves with the fire procedures and protocols. Observe the Safety rules and relevant codes of practices. Be sure that they are physically able to work.
  • Co-operate with all supervisors and managers at all times. Not interfere or misuse anything that is provided to safeguard their health and safety and others. Take care of their health and safety at all times.
  • Wear all personal protective equipment when appropriate and use any appropriate safety devices.
  • Make any suggestions to their line Manager to improve the Company Health and Safety procedures.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, at all times. Assist in keeping the pool area, changing facilities and toilets clean and tidy, at all times.
  • Deal with all enquiries in a professional and courteous manner, in person, on the telephone. Gaining feedback from both owners and holidaymakers on the service and facilities provided within the swimming pool.
  • Keep up to date with current promotions and pricing, to provide information to guests, on request, while maximising sales opportunities.
  • Fulfil all reasonable requests from guests to ensure their comfort, satisfaction and safety. Administer life saving techniques and first aid where necessary. Carry out rescues and initiate emergency action where necessary.
  • Maintain a concentrated observation of the pool and pool users. Maintain a safe and secure environment for all pool users; Ensuring that the building, plant room, all equipment, facilities and quality of pool water are correctly maintained.
  • Ensuring the safety of customers and team members and security of equipment, chemicals, plant room and pool(s).
  • Following and enforcing all relevant legislation including health and safety, hygiene, first aid and fire; Following the required procedures for water testing, back washing and water dosage; Maintaining the required levels of heating and ventilation.
  • Report all potential accidents. Complete checklists and reports as required; Be responsible for evacuation, in cases of emergency, acting as first point of contact for guests and the emergency services.
  • Maintain personal knowledge by completing in-house and external training; Be involved and contribute at team meetings; Carry out instructions given by the management team and head office.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Being able to swim is essential.

Further Information

The Employer is: HAGANS LEISURE. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended, and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
