The Employer is: CASHMERE CANDLES. Cashmere Candles, based close to Peatlands Park, just outside Dungannon is looking to recruit a Production Assistant to help with all aspects of the manufacturing of scented candles and other products. As well as the making of products, the applicant must also be able to help with fulfilling online and wholesale orders. As our online presence grows, the ideal candidate will show an aptitude towards digital marketing and online retail. There will be opportunities for selling directly to the customer in-person via craft fairs and as part of the collective at The Argory. The successful applicant must be competent in dealing with customers and handling money..

Responsibilities

• Help with all aspects of the manufacture of scented candles including preparing containers, making products, labelling, testing and quality control.
• Fulfil orders from website and social media pages.
• Assist with marketing and social media pages in order to drive content and online sales.
• Help with website - train on Shopify and identify ways to increase sales and ensure website products are up-to-date.
• Put together wholesale orders for delivery.
• Opportunities to help with selling at markets and craft fairs including setting up, till operations and cash handling.
• Occasional shifts available at The Coach House Collective at The Argory of which Cashmere Candles is a part of.
• Learn to use engraving machine and IT software.
• Engrave candle lids and possibly candle jars.
• A clean working environment is necessary and any employee is expected to clean surfaces, machinery and floors as part of their role.
• Access NI checks necessary.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Good communication skills - able to communicate with customers, potential customers, retail clients and other people in the team.
• Critical thinking and problem solving - in a small team, everyone is expected to work together and help across all areas of the business and contribute towards problem solving.
• Till operations and cash handling will be part of the role. Any experience in this would be advantageous.
• Being able to work on your own initiative is essential. After training, the successful applicant will be expected to sometimes work in the production studio by themselves at times and will expected to fulfil items to product standard.
• Teamwork - ability to work well with others, sometimes under pressure.
• Planning & organisational skills are necessary as there are many different elements to making products.

Desirable Skills

• Experience of managing social media accounts for business is desirable.
• Knowledge of Shopify and managing an e-commerce store is advantageous.
• Any previous experience of retail including cash handling.
• IT skills.

Further Information

The Employer is: CASHMERE CANDLES. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended, and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer. The successful candidate must be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a small team. Training will be provided in all areas. Much of this role will be on-the-job training with mentorship to help you learn production techniques. As a small, growing business, we are open to ideas and encourage them and are especially interested in ideas around growing sales including online. There will be monthly meetings for feedback, discussing objectives and development will be encouraged.
