The post holder will require a highly advanced level of skill and expertise in Occupational Therapy provision to patients with Trauma and/or Spinal Injuries. The post holder will be a source of advice and clinical expertise to other professionals at Regional level and will help inform the strategic planning of new services in relation to Trauma/Spinal Services. Responsibilities

• To be responsible for and ensure delivery of a comprehensive Occupational Therapy Service to in-patients referred from the Trauma and Spinal Wards and Trauma Unit, being the Specialist Clinical Lead to the Occupational Therapy Team for that service
• To provide lead clinical specialist expertise in the assessment and treatment of patients admitted to the Regional Trauma Unit, patients admitted to the Regional Intensive Care unit who have spinal/trauma conditions
• Provide specialist clinical leadership to the Occupational Therapy staff working in Acute Trauma, including poly traumas, ensuring the highest standard of assessment and treatment is provided

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy from a school recognised by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT)
• Be registered or be eligible for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• No less than seven years postgraduate experience in Occupational Therapy to include a minimum of 5 years at Band 6 or above in the assessment and treatment of patients with physical conditions

Desirable Skills

• Evidence of participation in Management training MCA training levels 4a and 4b
