NIMDTA Professional Support Co-ordinator (Band 5)


Job description

There are two Professional Support Co-ordinators within the Professional Support and Wellbeing Team. Whilst the roles have separate responsibilities, flexibility will be required to support wider Professional Support for doctors and dentists in training and HR responsibility for NIMDTA staff. The post holder will ensure there are efficient and effective practices in place to support delivery of the departmental objectives..

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Director of Education/Postgraduate Dean and Professional Support Manager to scope the requirements for the development and implementation of the New to Northern Ireland programme.
  • Develop policies and processes to support implementation of the N2NI Programme
  • Co-ordinate with Trust Leads / Directors of Medical Education and other external stakeholders to develop, deliver and promote a programme of enhanced induction for trainees new to NI, and ensure that feedback on the quality of the events is collected

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Relevant degree or recognised professional qualification or equivalent higher qualification and 1 years experience in a role in medical / dental education and training / HR Or 3 years experience in a role in medical / dental education
  • Hold a management qualification or have experience of managing a team of staff to ensure departmental objectives are met within a deadline driven work environment.
  • Experience in use of Microsoft Office products including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or equivalent.
  • Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment. This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport SEE JD

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in report writing and taking minutes
