Job description

To take the lead role in the co-ordination and practical implementation of a planned programme of garden management and maintenance for the Coronation Garden and Antrim Platinum Jubilee Clockwork Garden in Antrim Castle Gardens that ensures the highest possible horticultural standards are applied..

Responsibilities

• As a member of the Parks team, contribute to the effective delivery of operational objectives of the service area.
• Lead, supervise and work as part of the parks team of gardeners within the Coronation Garden and Antrim Platinum Jubilee Clockwork Garden in-line with current maintenance plan objectives.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Hold an Level 2 in Amenity Horticulture/Landscaping or equivalent
• Hold a full current driving licence and be willing to achieve C1 plus E class within 9 months of taking up the post (funded course)
• Hold a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence and Qualification card (or achieve within 12 months)
• A minimum of 2 years experience in horticultural maintenance in a gardens, parks or grounds setting
• 1 Years experience in a supervisory role over other gardeners
