Clinical Trials Pharmacy Technician-Haematology/Oncology Band 5
Job description
To provide comprehensive technical support to pharmacy clinical trials services in Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, ensuring compliance with Trust and Departmental Clinical Trials Standard Operating Procedures, applicable legislation and the Research Governance Framework for Health and Social Care 2005. To provide high quality, accurately dispensed medicines and products dispensed extemporaneously and aseptically to patients, wards and departments in Belfast Trust. The post holder will participate in the induction, training and development of junior staff and act as a NVQ mentor/assessor when required. Responsibilities
- To assess and dispense prescriptions in a timely and accurate manner for patients on wards and departments in the Belfast Trust, ensuring SOP's are followed to maintain high standards and keep errors to a minimum
- To provide high quality, accurately dispensed medicines and products dispensed extemporaneously and aseptically to patients, wards and departments in Belfast Trust
- To obtain and maintain Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Have worked for at least two years in hospital pharmacy as a qualified technician
- Hold Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) certificate or be prepared to undertake within 12 months from the date of appointment
Desirable Skills
- Have experience working with computers
- Have previous pharmacy clinical trials experience
