Job description

FIT is looking for a Cyber Security Tutor who will be responsible for the technical skills training delivery, for a training for employment initiative, focused on cybersecurity. You will play a pivotal role in prepar-ing students for careers in cybersecurity by imparting knowledge of foundational principles, practical skills, and ethical considerations in the field of Cyber. You will be responsible for planning and teaching and ensure work is marked, records are kept, and assessment is on-going, ensuring all learners are ready for exams and complete assessments. Your delivery will be creative and engaging to ensure individuals achieve their aims. You will be sup-ported by a Quality Assurance Team who is responsible for leading the team to drive up quality, and promoting an ethos of continuous improvement. .

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and develop lesson plans for FIT cybersecurity course that cater to different learning styles.
  • Deliver engaging lectures, workshops, and practical exercises to teach students about cyberse-curity concepts such as network security, cryptography, ethical hacking, and digital forensics.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching methods, including hands-on labs, case studies, and group projects, to facilitate learning and skill development.
  • Provide appropriate encouragement, guidance and support to learners to help them progress. Provide one to one support to learners where necessary.
  • Assess student performance through exams, assignments, and projects, and provide construc-tive feedback to support their learning and growth.
  • Establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with FIT Staff and other exter-nal organisations involved within the service and learners.
  • Ongoing management and administration tasks, including but not limited to session planning, logging results and providing feedback to learners.
  • Work alongside FIT Quality Assurance team to ensure that delivery meets the high expectations of FIT.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and program outcomes to monitor effectiveness and compliance aligned with educational standards.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate paperwork and records of progress.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, or a related field.
  • Previous teaching or training experience, preferably in a formal educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.

Desirable Skills

  • Relevant industry certifications e.g. CompTIA, CISSP, CEH
