We are looking for a customer-focused individual to join our team as a Retail/Hospitality Assistant. This position involves assisting customers, maintaining store appearance, supporting various retail operations and assisting in the smooth running of our match day hospitality..

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in a professional manner.
• Provide product information, answer inquiries and offer recommendations.
• Handle customer complaints or concerns with a positive and solutions-oriented approach.
• Process customer transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems.
• Restock merchandise and ensure shelves are well organised and visually appealing.
• Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages or discrepancies.
• Ensure the store is clean, organised and visually appealing to customers.
• Merchandise products according to company guidelines and promotions.
• Work collaboratively with team members to maintain a positive work environment.
• Provide support during busy periods and assist colleagues as needed.
• Stay informed about product features, benefits and promotions.
• Process cash and card transactions accurately and reconcile the cash register at the end of each shift.
• Follow security procedures to prevent theft and maintain a safe shopping environment.
• Assist in match day hospitality.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high pressure situations.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Basic Maths skills and proficiency in handling cash transactions.
• Strong communication and active listening abilities.
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Previous bar/restaurant experience.

Desirable Skills

• Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
• Manual handling training.
• POS experience.

Further Information

The Employer is: EAST (NO1) LTD - GLENTORAN FOOTBALL CLUB. Salary: Under 18 £6.40, 18-20 £8.60, 21 & over £11.44 per hour. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about delivering excellent customer service, have a keen eye for detail and possess strong communication skills.
