We are seeking a young bright, positive, and motivated individual to add to our Team, who wants to be here to learn and develop your skills for life and to grow with our business. You must be a team player, and experience with working to deadlines is a must, and have the ability to work on your own initiative. A pleasant manner and can-do attitude are essential. We are looking for an experienced forklift driver to be part of our team here at Broighter Gold. You must have at least two years experience, as you will be moving bags of oilseed daily, also moving pallets, bottles and jars of oil on and off lorries. Keeping a clean, tidy working environment is essential, to ensure compliance is always at a high standard. Organising the store, and ensuring we always have stock on rotation. Ability to diagnose faults and successfully carry out repairs - ability to interpret technical manuals and diagrams from some of the machines or equipment to recognise faults. Trouble shooting with machines, and training will be given, but the ability to oversee certain tasks on your own eventually will be critical. .

Responsibilities

  • Personal Hygiene is extremely important in our business.
  • Please note that you may have experience in some areas but full training will be given before you will be left unattended to ensure consistency.
  • Filling the hopper with seed, via forklift.
  • Starting the press, and filtering the oil per batch.
  • Maintenance, ensuring that the semi-automatic bottling line is maintained - working, and always working to deadlines.
  • Setting up for new lines, and ensuring maintenance is always up to date.
  • Ensuring that keeping records, reports, tares, and that quality products are going through at all times.
  • Using the forklift for loading, unloading raw materials, and completed products to the packing areas - being available for the distribution companies to load lorries.
  • Experience is essential as our loads are fragile. ie glass bottles, full pallets of bottles with oil, taking pallets off lorries and on.
  • Working as part of a team.
  • Other duties may include cleaning up, warehouse duties, yard duties, driving a tractor and trailer during the harvest.
  • General Housekeeping - Ensuring that cleanliness is always adhered too, and obstacle free- audit prepared at all times.
  • Lifting boxes when filled.
  • Lifting orders (up to 15-20kg).
  • Stocking the storeroom with boxes, making up boxes & packaging for all products.
  • At times helping to pack parcels, and pallets, ensuring accuracy of products and record information.
  • As and when required you will be expected to prepare orders, for shop and online orders.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Experience in Forklift driving.
  • Knowledge of organizing a warehouse, or store.
  • A good work ethos, and the ability to want to learn and be part of a Team.
  • Manual handling.
  • Good communication skills.
  • English Language essential.
  • Be self motivated, have a good communication skills, and have a willingness to take on challenges, and good time keeping is a must. High vis work wear/clothes is expected for your own safety.

Desirable Skills

  • Ability to adhere to Health & Safety Standards.
  • Forklift experience is essential for this role.
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety for Manufacturing will be essential and can be obtained after a successful interview.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and own initiative.
  • Manual Handling will be required (up to 20kg).
  • Full clean driving licence.

Further Information

The Employer is: BROIGHTER GOLD RAPESEED OIL. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended, and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer. Completing production/despatch records Helping in the warehouse, organising orders, to meet demands, and ensure sufficient stock is always available for sales team, and also production team. Helping, with Stock control of products, ingredients, bottles, jars, and caps. You may be expected to learn other areas of the business such as preparation of orders, and dispatch (to ensure that everyone knows what to do should someone be off)
