Job description

To work with a variety of clients with varying service needs, providing person-centred care and support to residents, enabling them to maintain a quality of life. You will support residents with all aspects of their day-to-day living, including social and physical activities, personal care, mobility, and mealtimes. Responsibilities

• Personal care including hygiene, toileting, bathing and dressing
• Mealtime assistance including preparation of foods, dining areas and feeding
• You will be actively involved in ensuring that appropriate care plans programmes are developed for individual residents with their agreement to meet their physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual needs
• Support residents with activities, community links and forming friendships

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• 1 year's experience working with older people in a residential or community setting at a senior level
• Understanding of Residential Care Homes Regulations (NI) 2005, the RQIA Residential Care Home Minimum Standards August 2011
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, patience, and empathy

Desirable Skills

• Experience of working with people with dementia and administration of medication is desirable
