Job description

Working within South Eastern HSC Trust (SEHSCT) the post holder will be the expert advanced practitioner physiotherapist within rheumatology services, providing a comprehensive service to patients under the care of SEHSCT Rheumatology Service. The post holder will liaise with trust wide physiotherapy and AHP services to ensure appropriate referral and on-going management for rheumatology patients within SEHSCT. As an autonomous practitioner the post holder will take a leading role in the rheumatology service providing expert assessment, diagnosis and treatment of rheumatology patients using advanced knowledge and clinical reasoning to an exceptional standard for patients who would normally be referred to a rheumatology consultant. The post holder will provide expert clinical opinion and advice to rheumatology consultants and the wider medical and health care professional team. The post holder will support research and audit activity to develop service delivery and optimise outcomes for this specialist tertiary level service..

Responsibilities

• To be an expert autonomous Physiotherapy Advanced Practitioner in all aspects of rheumatology care and practice to patients referred to Rheumatology Service.
• Provide expert clinical advice to other professionals locally and nationally in all aspects of rheumatology management across a wide spectrum of acute / chronic complex conditions, demonstrating advanced skills and knowledge and experience.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• BSc., MSc. Degree or Diploma in physiotherapy (or Equivalent)
• Currently registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
