Job description

Assist the Lead Dietitian in the development and management of a quality Nutrition and Dietetic Service throughout the Trust and particularly within the specialist area of acute medicine in Lagan valley and Downe Hospitals Act as a source of expertise for professional colleagues in these specialist areas of work and ensure the dissemination of up to date information on diet therapy to all relevant staff. Assess and treat patients who may have complex and/or chronic presentations and determine independent nutritional diagnosis/diagnoses and resultant diet therapy indicated. Responsibilities

• Liaise with relevant staff to promote good nutritional care for all patients
• Calculate individual dietary regimens in accordance with dietetic assessment for inpatients
• Coordinate staff to ensure that patients on diet therapy receive suitable menus, and that the meals served are in accordance with their diet therapy needs

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Degree or Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics, or equivalent
• No less than 18 months post registration clinical dietetic experience by end February 2024 No less than two years post registration clinical dietetic experience
