Pharmacy Support Worker Higher Level Aseptic Services Band 3 BHSCT
Job description
The successful applicant will provide support for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in aseptic units in accordance with the relevant standards, policies, guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures. They will work in other sections of the pharmaceutical service under the supervision of the relevant section manager. The successful applicant will be required to complete a BTEC Level 2 Certificate in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Support Staff and complete any additional NVQ2 Pharmacy Services modules relevant to the job role depending on experience. .
Responsibilities
- Participate in the cleaning and preparation of the aseptic unit and its equipment and supplies ready for aseptic preparation and dispensing.
- Ensure that all stock transactions are appropriately recorded on the pharmacy computer system in order that stock holdings are accurate and appropriate and that patient records are correct.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- 5 GCSE's grades A-G or equivalent, must include Maths and English.
- Willing to undertake additional NVQ2 Pharmacy Services modules relevant to the job role.
Desirable Skills
- GCSE Biology or Chemistry at Grade C or above or a GCSE single award science Grade B or above.
- Experience working in Pharmacy aseptic services.
