The post holder will have highly developed specialist knowledge and experience in the field of Perinatal Mortality Review (PMR) and possess the skills to act as the PMR Midwifery lead within Maternity services. Responsibilities

• Adhere to DHSSPS and NMC guidelines for practice requirements and standards, for example, safe handling, administration, storage and custody of medicinal products.
• Adhere to Trust guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Ensure that organisational goals are reflected in own and the multi-disciplinary teams' objectives and in ward/department plans.
• Contribute to the development of the Trust's policies and strategies, where appropriate.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Registered Midwife on the NMC Register.
• Have a Midwifery Degree and 3 years post-registration experience at band 6 in midwifery practice OR Have 5 years post-registration experience as a Band 6 in midwifery practice and have obtained a postgraduate diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Provide evidence of continuous personal and professional development evidencing specialist knowledge and experience in maternal and infant mental health and social complex pregnancies. A portfolio of evidence will be required at interview.
• Must be fluent in English, both reading and writing in order to communicate with colleagues and patients.

Desirable Skills

• Additional qualification in mental health or a counselling qualification.
