After School Club Assistant
Job description
To help create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all children. .
Responsibilities
- Share responsibility for the care and welfare of the children.
- Be vigilant for Safeguarding issues.
- Ensure effective team working.
- To be vigilant and protect children from harm or abuse, reporting any concerns immediately in accordance with Safeguarding and Whistleblowing Policies.
- To assist with the preparation and serving of healthy snacks ensuring a high standard of food hygiene.
- To assist with the supervision of homework in line with the relevant procedures.
- To provide additional assistance as necessary for children with particular difficulties (e.g. communication, behaviour, mobility) being particularly mindful of safeguarding and health and safety.
- To respect and value all colleagues, children and parents, encouraging a positive and diverse working environment.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Previous experience of caring for children either in or outside the work environment in a paid or unpaid capacity.
Desirable Skills
- Level 3 in Early Years.
Further Information
The Employer is: DRAPERSTOWN AFTER SCHOOL CLUB. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer. Salary: Under 18 £6.40, 18-20 £8.60, 21 & over £11.44 per hour.
