The Employer is: BREW AND BIA. We are seeking a customer-oriented individual to join our team of baristas and waiting staff. You will play a vital role in providing exceptional service to our customers, ensuring they have an enjoyable experience. Welcome customers and promptly seat them at appropriate tables, and provide menus. Take accurate food and beverage orders from customers and ensure special requests or dietary restrictions are noted correctly..

Responsibilities

• Greeting and Seating: Welcome customers and promptly seat them at appropriate tables, and provide menus.
• Order Taking: Take accurate food and beverage orders from customers and ensure special requests or dietary restrictions are noted correctly.
• Food and Beverage Service: Serve meals and drinks promptly and accurately, ensuring high presentation standards. Be knowledgeable about the menu items and provide recommendations when requested.
• Coffee Preparation: Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and speciality drinks, according to established recipes and customer preferences.
• Quality Control: Ensure the quality and consistency of coffee beverages by properly grinding, dosing, tamping, and extracting espresso shots.
• Customer Assistance: Address customer enquiries, resolve complaints or concerns promptly, and escalate issues to the supervisor or manager when necessary.
• Table Maintenance: Set up tables, clean and reset them efficiently, ensuring a clean and tidy dining area at all times.
• Cash Handling: Process customer payments accurately, including cash, credit cards, or other accepted methods. Maintain proper cash handling procedures and reconcile cash drawer at the end of each shift.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth food service and timely delivery of orders, maintaining effective communication channels.
• Hygiene and Safety: Follow all health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling and storage procedures, to maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Previous experience in a similar role or hospitality industry is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
• Strong multitasking and time management skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and organised workspace.
• Basic Maths skills for cash handling and order processing.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Desirable Skills

• Barista skills desirable but not necessary as full training will be provided.

Further Information

The Employer is: BREW AND BIA. Salary: Under 18 £6.40, 18-20 £8.60, 21 & over £11.44 per hour. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended, and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
