Facilities Support Officer, Band 5


Job description

The post-holder will work as part of a small team within the HR & Corporate Services Department. They will be responsible for providing an effective and efficient support role to the Facilities Manager and Head of HR & Corporate Services..

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Facilities Manager and Head of HR & Corporate Services to follow up on required improvement and compliance activities recommended by relevant regulatory and statutory bodies, and Department requirements.
  • Provides diary support to the Facilities Manager by arranging, co-ordinating and taking minutes at meetings convened by the HR & Corporate Services Department.
  • Maintains and develops adequate electronic and manual filing systems in relation to areas of responsibility.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Business or Facilities Management Related Degree or professional recognised qualification or equivalent and 1 years experience in a role involving management of staff working in support services or Facilities Or
  • HNC/HND in Business or Facilities Management or equivalent and 2 years experience in a role involving management of staff working in support services or Facilities Or
  • 4 years experience working in an Estates or Facilities Management role, or similar role, including at least 1 years experience in staff management at Band 4 level or above, or equivalent.
  • Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment. This criterion will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport See JD

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of project management in estates or facilities project related areas, demonstrating how you led or were part of such a team
  • Experience in managing staff within support services roles such as domestics, porters, admin staff, warehouse/stores staff

Location: NIBTS HQ, BCH SITE. Temporary position for 18 Months.
