Sales and Marketing Representative


Job description

The Sales Representative and Marketing Representative will be responsible for generating leads, prospecting potential clients and closing sales deals. They will seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking and social media. They will develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and offering appropriate solutions to their needs. They will also communicate with an outside marketing team to develop strategies for reaching target markets and achieving sales goals. Additionally, they will keep track of agricultural trends, competitors, and market conditions to adjust sales strategies accordingly and ensure continued success. This role requires excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a strong ability to negotiate and persuade clients, and a background in agriculture will be helpful..

Responsibilities

  • Market research: They will learn how to conduct comprehensive market research to understand consumer behaviour, identify target demographics, analyse competitors and interpret market trends.
  • Content creation: They will develop their skills in content creation for diverse marketing materials including social media posts, blog articles, email newsletters and promotional materials.
  • They will learn how to craft compelling messages, refine their writing and editing abilities, and unleash their creativity to effectively communicate the brand message to the target audience.
  • Digital marketing proficiency: With the increasing significance of digital marketing, They will learn essential digital marketing skills and tools.
  • They will gain proficiency in social media platforms, email marketing software, content management systems, foundational knowledge of search engine optimisation (SEO) and online advertising.
  • Campaign coordination: Through assisting in the coordination and execution of marketing campaigns, they will learn valuable organisational skills, attention to detail and effective multitasking.
  • They will gain insights into planning, scheduling and tracking various marketing activities across multiple channels.
  • Data analysis and reporting: They will develop skills in data analysis and reporting to evaluate the performance of marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • They will learn how to interpret metrics such as website traffic, social media engagement and conversion rates, and translate them into actionable insights and recommendations for optimization using tools like Microsoft Excel or Google Analytics.
  • Conduct sales and marketing calls to promote business products or services.
  • Coordinate and set up both online and face to face meetings, and presentations using Zoom and other virtual platforms.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Experience in the agriculture industry is essential.
  • Sales and marketing skills: Proficiency in making sales calls, pitching products or services, and executing marketing strategies to promote business growth.
  • Excellent communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Virtual meeting setup: Familiarity with setting up and managing virtual meetings and presentations using platforms like Zoom or other online meeting tools.
  • Administrative skills: Competence in handling general administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing emails and organising documents.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data entry, analysis and reporting, as well as proficiency in Word for document creation and formatting.
  • Customer service skills: Capability to provide excellent customer service and maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Desirable Skills

  • Social media management skills.
  • Graphic design skills.
  • Drivers licence preferred but not essential.
