Job description

The Safeguarding Children Nurse Specialist (SCNS) will work as part of the Safeguarding Nursing team to support nurses throughout the Belfast Trust in their role of Safeguarding Children. He/she will act as the lead SCNS for Mental Health Services. This will involve working together with other professions and disciplines on a multidisciplinary/interagency basis within both Primary Care and Hospital Settings..

Responsibilities

• Work across the Belfast Trust in the Safeguarding Children Nursing Team in order to ensure that all nursing staff are supported in their safeguarding role.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Have 3 years post-registration experience which must include a minimum of 2 years at band 6 in a community/acute setting.
