Child Health Assistant
Job description
The Child Health Assistant will work as a member of the Public Health Nursing Team (Health Visiting and School Nursing, or the School Immunisation Team) to carry out a range of delegated duties, for the provision of the service to families in the NHSCT. The post holder will work in various settings such as the home, community, education or clinic to support the team to deliver on key Public Health Initiatives. Responsibilities
- Assist the public health nursing team in the delivery of the Healthy Child, Healthy Future programme including for example: 6-9 month contact, 3 year review
- Work in partnership with the Public Health Nursing team to deliver on key Public Health Initiatives e.g. obesity, smoking cessation, childhood immunisations, SUDI, childhood injury prevention
- Provide health education advice to families including first time parents on diet & nutrition, introducing solids, play, early literacy, smoking cessation, safe sleep & parenting
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- NVQ/QCF / RQF Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People or CCLD Level 3 Extended Diplomas (Children's Care, Learning and Development)
Further Information
Salary: £21,730 - £23,177 per annum pro rata.
